What is a Classical Liberal?

Classical liberalism defines as the idea that individual freedom and limited government are the best way for humans to form a free society.
Classical liberalism has its origins in great thinkers like John Locke, Adam Smith, John Stuart Mill and Thomas Jefferson.
The core belief being that the individual should be considered above the group.
These days liberalism has been confused with leftism and progressivism which has nothing to do with classical liberalism.
Classical liberals wish for a free society with free persons based on people’s own ideas and actions.
