Piketty fails to convince in arguments on inequality

IF YOU are one of the suckers who bought Thomas Piketty’s best-selling book, Capital in the Twenty-First Century, you are unlikely to read it. You can use your 700-page tome as a doorstop. It is the world’s most unread book, according to research done by mathematician Jordan Ellenberg.

No one epitomises inequality mania more than pop-economist Piketty. His psychoactive visit to South Africa caused delirium among inequality junkies. The hype is so extreme that British Prime Minister David Cameron, US President Barack Obama, Pope Francis and others regard the "problem of inequality" as one of the world’s greatest challenges.
